We have started converting our Physical Oracle DB servers to Virtual and the end game here is to utilize Veeam to snapshot and use the oracle features to restore Individual DB's.
We use an EMC VNX for our LUNs and also use Oracle GRID disks with ASM.
We were able to 'see' the disks in RHEL on the DB server under virtual but we couldn't access them (read,write) the only method that let us access the disks was to change it to a physical RDM, would anyone be able to shed some light as to why we can't get this working with virtual RDM?
