Hi all, though familiar with VMWare, I never really worked with it from the ground up. I set up a home lab recently and was
able to set up datastores on hard drives in my machine. I need to access some files outside of the local machine
but am having trouble connecting to it. I have a Netgear router using readyshare and can access it from another hypervisor
type and local laptops and desktops in my house. However, when I try to create a new datastore (using NFS 4), it just
errors out on me: Failed to mount NFS datastore ISOLibrary - Operation failed, diagnostics report: Unable to complete Sysinfo operation
and to see the VMkernel log. The log is generic, just says mount failed: timeout. I've tried connecting with logon username and password
and not using them. I am just wondering if this type of network storage is not compatible with VMWare or am I missing something.
